Carbon fiber cloth are made similar to fiberglass with the main difference being that instead of glass filaments they are carbon filaments. Carbon fiber cloth is sold the same way and listed in the same weight, width, or style types as fiberglass cloth. With carbon fiber cloth you can achieve a lighter build with a much stiffer finish. While carbon is excellent for stiffening a project its main drawback would be its low impact resistance.

The most known style of carbon comes in a 2×2 twill weave. This is the kind of format you see typically on carbon fiber car parts such as hoods and dash panels. Much like fiberglass it can come in a woven or stitched variety.
